The National Flooring Equipment 6280HD Gladiator is a heavy-duty walk-behind scraper designed for contractors who need one machine capable of removing both hard and soft flooring materials.

With the correct tooling, the Gladiator can tackle ceramic tile, hardwood, thin-set and other demanding hard-goods applications while also removing carpet, VCT, sheet vinyl and linoleum.

Its compact 45 cm width helps with access in confined areas, while adjustable side weights allow additional pressure to be placed over the cutting head or moved toward the rear wheels to improve traction.

Why Choose the Gladiator?

Heavy-Duty Removal Without Moving to a Ride-On

  • Designed to remove both hard and soft flooring materials with the appropriate tooling.
  • Heavy-duty construction and additional traction help the machine maintain force during demanding hard-goods removal.
  • A 30° soft-goods attachment positions flat, self-scoring and specialty blades for resilient flooring removal.
  • A 9° hard-goods attachment accepts ceramic and wood-floor shanks for tile, hardwood and thick epoxy removal.
  • Side-slide weights can be moved forward for additional cutting-head pressure or rearward to improve traction.
  • The 45 cm machine width makes the Gladiator suitable for confined areas where larger equipment may not be practical.
  • Orbital cutting action is designed to cut through flooring rather than hammer against it, reducing unnecessary wear on the machine.

Common Questions

6280HD Gladiator FAQs

What is the 6280HD Gladiator designed to remove?

The Gladiator is designed for both hard and soft goods. With suitable tooling it can remove ceramic tile, hardwood, thin-set, thick epoxy, carpet, VCT, sheet vinyl, linoleum and similar flooring materials.

Can the Gladiator remove ceramic tile and timber?

Yes. The Gladiator's hard-goods tooling attachment accepts ceramic and wood-floor removal shanks designed for applications such as ceramic tile and hardwood.

Can the Gladiator still remove carpet and vinyl?

Yes. A separate soft-goods tooling angle allows the Gladiator to use flat blades, self-scoring blades and other suitable tooling for carpet, VCT, vinyl and similar materials.

What is the difference between the Commander and Gladiator?

The 6280 Commander is primarily designed for faster and more efficient soft-goods removal. The heavier-duty 6280HD Gladiator provides the additional torque, traction and tooling capability needed for hard goods while still being able to remove soft flooring.

What blade or shank should I use?

Tooling depends on the material being removed, adhesive, substrate and site conditions. Your local representative can help select the appropriate blade, carbide-tipped shank or wood-floor tooling for the application.
